On exhibit at the World of Games: The hottest video games from over 35 years of digital gaming history. Games can be played on the original hardware and devices – from old seventies classics like ‘Pong’ to hit games on current versions of Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo consoles, everything a real game freak needs is on display and ready to be experienced. Furthermore, visitors can reminisce in the good old arcade feeling on the more than twenty “old school” video game consoles. No less than 100 original devices with the most popular cult games of the last 35 years are available and waiting to be played. This makes the World of Games one of the biggest video gaming exhibits of all time! The heroes of the past and the future are also part of this exclusive exhibit. See the development from 8-bit to 192kB.
World of Games was on display from the 11th of August until the 5th of October, 2005, at the Vienna Art Center (VAC) in Austria. The VAC is located in an old monastery, allowing visitors to play all sorts of games during the summer in a cool environment. This successful exhibit was presented on more than 20,000 square feet.
World of Games is an exhibit for families and teenagers. For this reason, games with sexual, discriminating or violent content are not presented.

New Generation
In each zone the development of video gaming is described and explained. Special games and other rare and unique equipment are also shown. This exhibit can be presented as follows:
The visitor walks through a tubular, circular corridor (see drawing). It is directly in this corridor that the 5 zones are presented in individual displays complete with object descriptions. At the end of the corridor, after the last generation, the visitor enters the future zone where the newest games are shown (the yellow stage). In the middle of the circle, several games – the number of which depends on the space available – associated with the different zones are on display. These games can also be played by visitors.
