Tutankamun and the World of the Pharaohs

The exhibition highlights treasures that are 2,500 to 4,600 years old and features more than 70 objects excavated from Tutankhamun’s tomb, including his golden sandals – created specifically for the afterlife – which were found on his feet when his mummy was unwrapped. Also included is one of the golden canopic coffinettes, inlaid with precious stones, which contained his preserved internal organs.

Other key objects in the exhibition from King Tutankhamun’s tomb are a colossal figure of Tutankhamun depicting the king as a young man, which originally may have stood at Tutankhamun’s mortuary temple, as well as a shabti of Tutankhamun. The exhibition also contains 75 objects from other Valley of the Kings tombs, including the golden mask of Psusennes, the third king of the 21st dynasty of Egypt.

Tutankhamun and the World of the Pharaohs was on display from March to September 2008 at the Museum of Ethnology in Vienna, Austria, and now travels the USA until 2012, hosted by the most prestigious museums.

After its huge success in Brno, Czech Republic the two major Leonardo da Vinci exhibitions are now on display in Prague. Dialogue in the Dark installation in Seoul – South Korea

On June 25, the third Korean Dialogue in the Dark installation opened at the Dialogue Museum in Seoul. In this exhibition, the streets of Seoul have been recreated on 800 square metres in a completely dark room. Instead of the blind being led by those with sight, the exact opposite is played out – the blind introduce us to their world by sharing the beauty which they experience without the aid of visual sight. This is a long-term exhibit. Tours are held daily from 10 am to 8 pm and take up to 60 minutes. This exhibition is a cooperative venture between the Dialogue Museum and EMS Asia Pacific. For more information please visit www.dialogue-in-dark.com.

Leonardo da Vinci – The exhibit showing all his paintings!

He was a painter, sculptor, architect, art historian, musician, natural scientist, writer and inventor. But above all he was an artist and universal genius.

The exhibit Leonardo da Vinci Man | Artist | Genius in the Minoritenkirche Vienna gives you an extraordinary opportunity to see all 23 paintings known to be created by Leonardo da Vinci, all of which are replicated in their original size. They are presented in chronological order to provide a better grasp of the developments and changes in Leonardo’s work. Furthermore, visitors are informed about the journeys most of his paintings have taken around the world during the past 500 years.

During the exhibit, music from the time of Leonardo da Vinci is played. Professor Reinhard Amon and Maestro Prof. Contini have meticulously resurrected the music Leonardo composed during his life, and which now guides visitors through the exhibit.

Visitors who want to see the ‘Mona Lisa’ have to wait for hours at the Louvre in Paris, for the ‘Benois Madonna’ one must travel to St. Petersburg, while ‘Madonna in the Cave’ can be found at The National Gallery in London. For the price of a single exhibit, visitors can appreciate all of Leonardo da Vinci’s wonderful paintings – without having to travel the world!

More information about this special exhibit can be found at www.leonardo-da-vinci.at.
